5 Easy Ways To Promote Wellness At Home
Carve Out a Relaxing Nook: It’s important to balance a busy schedule with sufficient downtime. For that reason, design an area in your home that’s reserved for reading or meditating if that’s more your thing.
Avoid Feeling Confined: The best way to avoid feeling like a prisoner in your own home is to take advantage of your windows. Keep windows clean and pay close attention to where seating is placed in your home. You can also try painting a room in a lighter colour that makes you feel at ease.
Pay Attention to Materials: For a more inviting home atmosphere, selecting furniture material wisely can make a major difference. Use natural materials like marble and wood that feel good to the touch to add an element of Zen.
Declutter: There’s no way around decluttering your home. Yes, it takes time, but the payoff is significant. If you haven’t read it, check out Marie Kondo’s The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Her decluttering approach is simple and works: get rid of things that don’t make you happy, and replace them with those that do.
Combat Noise: If you live in a bustling city, drywall is your friend. Ask a contractor if installing a layer of sound-deadening sheetrock on the particular walls in question is a good idea. If that’s not an option for you at the moment, a simple indoor water fountain can mask low-level sounds with the healing sounds of water.
