A Community in Pickering Durham Ontario

The Dunbarton Neighbourhood is a popular community in Pickering named after William Dunbar.  In 1840 William Dunbar purchased the land along Kingston Road, west of Dixie Road. After that, he laid out the old Village of Dunbarton. Today Dunbarton boarders Spruce Hill Rd to the West, goes North to Pine Creek Valley just north of Finch Ave, Appleview Rd and Fairport Rd to the East and to Highway 401 to the South. This beautiful neighbourhood covers is 1.62 sq km.  Dunbarton is mainly comprised of detached homes. And there are a large number of homes in Dunbarton which are on deep lots, therefore providing some development opportunities.

The Dunbarton Creek is also an important part of the neighbourhood, providing a habitat for fauna and flora. Furthermore part of the ravine is densely forested, therefore providing a nice scenic setting beside residential homes. And also, the creek reaches from the North end of Dunbarton to the South.

Dunbarton offers beautiful green space, access to several places of worship and Highway 401.  Also this neighbourhood is a short drive to many popular Pickering amenities. These amenities include Pickering Town Centre, Pickering Recreaction Centre and Lake Ontario.
